There will always be high end beauty products that
seem hard to justify spending the money on. I’ve got a few items that I really
wish I could get the money back for! But, every now and again you agonise over
whether you’re going to buy something, and when you do, it’s the best
investment you could have made! NARS Sheer Glow Foundation is honestly one of
my most loved beauty products, and is loved by bloggers and YouTubers the world
over. I got mine from Mecca Cosmetica last year, and it’s one of those beauty
products you try to save for special occasions, but it’s actually so hard to
resist! I absolutely adore mine, and despite it costing $68, I think it was
well worth the money. It is my absolute favourite high end beauty product!
This foundation is described as a ‘sheer’ coverage,
but it’s really buildable and provides really nice coverage of redness I get
from spots and dark circles under my eyes. I’d say you could build it to a
medium coverage. This foundation is best applied using a buffing brush;
stippling brushes don’t set it well enough and it can look obvious if it just
sits on top of your skin. I applied it using my fingers once, and I applied it
so thick it was shiny and greasy looking, so a good brush (I use the Real
Techniques Expert Face Brush |Link| or the
Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki Brush |Link| or
the EcoTools Custom Coverage Buffing Brush |Link ) The ‘glow’ refers to the luminous finish it gives your skin, and it
really does brighten up your complexion and it is a dewy-ish finish. Though you
can mattify it with a good powder, I love the glowy, dewy finish of the
foundation.
I’m currently in the shade Santa Fe, but during winter
months I dip down to the paler shade Fiji. Santa Fe is described as Medium 2
shade, which is weird for me because I’ve absolutely always been the palest
drugstore foundation colours. I guess it shows that NARS is a good brand, with
waaay more colour options for fairer to darker skin. I’d recommend you go to a
MUA in the makeup department of a House Of Fraser or Mecca Cosmetica and they’ll
match you up to your shade. If you’re spending such a huge amount of money on a
foundation, make sure you get the right colour!
I absolutely love this foundation and I really don’t
mind the price. I adore the airbrush finish it gives my skin; it really smooths
it out and makes my skin look so soft and even. I’d definitely recommend this
foundation to absolutely everyone! If you can justify parting with the cash, I’d
say you’d be really surprised. A little goes a long way with this foundation,
and it will last you longer than you’d expect because its way more pigmented
than your cheaper drugstore foundations. It is the perfect foundation for me,
and doesn’t increase the oiliness of my already oily skin. I adore this
foundation and my love affair with NARS is never ending!
Have you tried NARS Sheer Glow Foundation? What’s your
favourite high end makeup product?
This really does sound worth it, and I love the glowy finish it has that makes you look so radiant! What a gorgeous foundation. x
