MAC Lipstick Collection Lip Swatches10:00 AM
It’s about time I dedicated some love to one of my all-time favourite brands; MAC. Their lipsticks are world famous, and I’m sure most of you will be very familiar with their beautiful shades and finishes. Like any other girl, I love taking a peek into the collections of other beauty bloggers, so I thought I’d share my MAC lipstick collection with you.
This was one of my earlier purchases when I first started getting into makeup, and as a result, I don’t really find that I like it too much. I saw it being used in loads of YouTube tutorials, and I loved how it looked on screen, but in real life it looks very concealer-y on me, and because I’m so pale and ghostly anyway, I feel really washed out when I wear it. I can sometimes pull it off on a night out, but the pale nude lip look isn’t really one I go for now. It’s a satin finish, but does feel a little bit dry on my lips, but as always, the MAC lipstick smell is beautiful and it applies and stays like a dream!
I adore this lipstick shade. It’s such a sheer tone but I love building it up so it is a bit more opaque. It’s a rosy pink with peach undertones, and when the slight shimmer catches the light, I fall more and more in love with it. This is one of those ‘my lips but better’ shades, and I actually reach for this one most days because it’s so neutral. It’s certainly not a show stopper, but it’s gorgeous and really wearable. This one is a cremesheen + pearl, meaning it is very sheer with a slight sparkle.
A true favourite of mine. This one got such a lot of wear out of me when I had purple hair because I had to match my makeup with pinker shades so I didn’t clash. It’s a gorgeous baby pink that sits so beautifully on my lips. It’s a soft shade, but I feel like it’s a pretty attention grabbing pink for every day wear. It’s apparently a cremesheen, but I find it to be quite opaque and really hard-wearing. It’s creamy and smooth to apply, and doesn’t dry my lips out through the day. I love this one with a soft brown smokey eye and a winged liner.
Probably the most famous MAC shade ever; it’s owned by so many people that I’m sure this was sold out at my MAC counter on the first time I went to buy it. It’s another ‘my lips but better’ shade, and has a slight sparkle to it too. It is a frost finish, which is my definite least favourite type of finish, but for some reason I really like wearing this one. I don’t reach for it as much as I used to, but there was a time I religiously wore this shade and nothing else!
Whatever possessed me to buy this, I’ll never know! This lustre finish lippy is genuinely neon in the flesh and has orange undertones (which I discovered very quickly after trying this on that they don’t suit me!). It’s comfortable to wear and doesn’t dry my lips out, but I do feel like it’s a bit of a slippery lipstick. You have to build the colour up quite a bit and do frequent touch ups, and I do sort of feel like it’s sliding around a little bit when I wear it. Truthfully, this is my least used MAC lipstick, and I completely forget about it existing most of the time! I’m sure it would look amazing on the right skintone, but for me, it’s a massive no no.
My utter favourite at the moment. I’m obsessing over this Kylie Jenner lip craze, and this lipstick is just so spot on. For my paler skintone, the usual products used by beauty bloggers were a bit dark for me, but Faux looks perfectly mauve-y brown on my lips and sends me straight back into the 90’s. I’m hooked. It’s a satin finish; so incredibly smooth and velvety on the lips. This one doesn’t need too much building up to look amazing, but I must always remember to blot this one to stop it being too thick looking on my lips. As I said: obsessed! It’s my current daily lipstick.
Myself and Morange have a love/hate relationship. I convince myself that I hate it so much, yet every time I try it on, I love it. It’s a bright red mixed with fluorescent orange, and in my eyes, it shouldn’t work. But it does! It’s an amplified crème, so it’s incredibly pigmented and feels silky smooth on the lips. The colour is so intense and bright; a definite showstopper. I get so many compliments when I dare wear this out (which is very rarely, for some reason!) and I love completing a monochrome outfit look with this neon flash of orange-red!
The latest addition to my collection! I very naughtily bought myself this for Christmas, wrapped it up and put it under the tree for me to open! It is the most incredible red I’ve ever seen (but not as dark as I’d imagined it to be), and genuinely the most infuriating lipstick I have ever applied. It’s a matte finish, and I’m not sure if this has anything to do with the difficulty I have getting the lines straight, but I fail miserably every time. I’m definitely going to have to get a lipliner to sort me out. Regardless, though, I feel like snow white when I wear this out, and again, I’m swarmed with compliments about the intensity of the blood red shade.
Well, that’s my collection of MAC lippies! In my opinion, they’re the best brand for lipsticks in the world. There’s literally a shade for every occasion, and I certainly plan on adding to my collection gradually. These lipsticks can be bought at a MAC counter or online for £15.50, and although they are on the pricey side, they’re stunning, smell beautiful and come in the widest range of shades on the market! If you have written a similar post, I’d love to read it and have a snoop in your makeup collection! Please leave me a link down below so I can check it out.
