Soap & Glory Archery in Brownie Points

It’s rare I pick up a new brow product; I’m so comfortable and familiar with my staple Benefit Gimme Brow. As far as I’m concerned, eyebrows are nightmarishly difficult and I hate the upkeep of them. I literally never pluck or wax them, I don’t understand all the hype and when I’ve tried to really ‘do’ my brows I feel a bit like a clown with huge great slugs on my face. I guess I’m quite lucky in the eyebrow department, however, I do get complimented on their thickness and apparently they’re quite a nice, natural shape considering I never touch them. Having said all of this, I’m a true sucker for Soap & Glory! So, when I started reading about everyone’s excitement over their Archery brow pen, I couldn’t resist treating myself to one. While shopping in Stratford with a friend, I picked one up in the shade Brownie Points, hoping that maybe this would become a great alternative to my usual Gimme Brow by Benefit!

Soap & Glory’s Archery in Brownie Points is a double ended pen and pencil, designed to help you shape and define your brows. The pen is filled with a highly pigmented and almost permanent tint. The tip is teeny weeny and super thin, so it’s really easy to guide and replicate the appearance of hairs if you’re trying to fill out your brows. On top of that, the colour is so natural and looks just like the colour of ashy light brown brow hairs. The staying power of this ink is ridiculous too; so much so that I’ve made mistakes whilst using this and had to use a makeup wipe to get rid of it! As for the crayon side, I’m actually not entirely sure what it’s meant to be used for. The Soap & Glory website says “use the crayon to give your brows the perfect shape”, so I’m assuming you can use it to sculpt the actual arch and outline of your brow. For me, having such thick brows already, I don’t actually tend to need this kind of feature, but I can see the appeal of having two awesome products on a double-ended stick!

The one thing I feel is missing from this product is a way of setting the brows in place. I like to use my Essence Clear Brow and Lash Gel to set my brows after filling them in with Archery, and it works really well. The colour stays all day, and makes my brows look thicker and fuller and much stronger in shape. I picked mine up for £10 in Boots, so actually it works out to £5 per product, and it’s sort of ‘buy one get one free’! I absolutely adore Soap & Glory’s cosmetic range, as well as their bath and body bits, so I’ll always keep this in my collection as a nice alternative to my very easy, no-fuss Gimme Brow by Benefit. Saying this, Archery’s staying power is second to none and would be the perfect brow saviour to someone with sparse or thinner brows!

Have you tried Soap & Glory’s Archery? What did you think? Let me know in the comments!

Lots of love,
Jasmine x

  2. Aww man I know how you feel! My eyebrows are naturally quite thick but they're a nice shape so I can get away with not plucking them more then most. I don't really understand why all my friend's spend so long on their eyebrows and go on about 'eyebrow game'. I do want to start defining them a bit more though so I might give this a go!

  5. It's been a staple in my makeup bag for a while now.. I use the pen to outline my eyebrows then the pencil to fill them in.. only thing I don't like about it is the pen runs out very quickly way before the pencil does x
