TEAMI DETOX | ONE WEEK IN + FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Finally, finally, finally, I actually bought myself a teatox. It’s something I’ve been talking about doing for the longest time. I’m forever falling on and off the health and fitness badwagon, and I’m a notorious junk-food addict. I’m always feeling very up and down about my body and my appearance. I have always been so used to being really quite thin and toned from exercise, that when I started uni last year and put on loads of weight (from surviving solely on pasta bake and exercising precisely never), I got so down on myself. Since Chris and I moved in together, we’ve vowed to get fitter. We started going for runs together, my usual food shop is quite healthy and I joined the gym at uni, but for some reason I was struggling to get motivated. Cue TEAMI’s teatox!

I first spotted this teatox on Instagram, and ever since, I’ve been adding the 30 Day Detox to my basket, and then clicking off the page again. It’s quite an investment, especially for a uni student, but I really needed the motivation and a helpful boost to get my healthy lifestyle back on track.

So, here I am, writing this first impressions/review now that I’ve successfully completed a week of this 30 Day detox. Firstly, I’m still looking a bit pudgy in the nude, but I didn’t expect to transform into a Victoria’s Secret model overnight, so that’s fine. The ordering process and the customer service provided by Teami is really great; shipping was fast, the right thing arrived (actually a bonus for me these days) and they have a super helpful chat service with their online team so that you can ask any questions you might have before you purchase. My 30 Day Detox costs £39.99, but I used their Halloween discount code so saved a bit of money. Shipping was free!

On the topic of taste, I really really really live and breathe as a tea-drinker. I think its even in my twitter bio that I’m always submerged in some mug of tea or another. That being said, the Skinny Tea (the morning/daytime tea in the kit) is really pleasant and refreshing. It’s a blend of oolong and yerba mate, lime leaf ginger root, dandelion leaf and lotus leaf. All very yummy, all energising and invigorating and sets me up for the day. I’ve been topping up my tea infuser with hot water and re-using the leaves throughout the morning, as I’ve noticed that my appetite is suppressed when I drink a lot of this!

On the other hand, the Colon Tea, which praise Jesus you only drink every other night, is a real struggle for me to get through. I’ve only drunk it three times up until me writing this first impressions post, but I personally don’t like the taste at all! I’ve found it is much more drinkable with a wedge of lemon thrown in, but still, for me it’s a little bit of a chug-it-as-quickly-as-possible situation. It’s fine, and it’s what I expected. Anything that is naturally going to flush out your intestines isn’t going to taste sweet and sugary and processed, which is obviously what I’m used to! The first Colon Tea drinking ceremony didn’t have much payoff. The next day I was a little bit confused and spent a lot of time waiting around for nothing to happen. The second and third Colon Teas reeeally worked though. Like REALLY. And without going into too much detail, I got stuck in the toilets at uni this morning with no loo roll in my cubicle. Nightmare. So, to cut a long story short, this Colon cleansing tea WORKS.

I’ll be updating my blog with thoughts and new info as and when I think it’s necessary, and I’ll do a huuuuuge review with my before and after pictures after my 30 Day Detox is up! I have to say, though, that regardless of if this turns out to be some kind of miracle product or not, starting this teatox has motivated me beyond words, revved my healthy eating plan into gear and is making me feel much more positive in general. It’s crazy, but I really do feel like my get-up-and-go is back; I’m running, cooking from scratch, hitting the gym and feeling like I’m actually getting somewhere for once. I’m really loving this teatox, and I’d recommend starting one if you’ve been um-ing and ah-ing about whether or not to, because I’m super duper glad I did.

  1. Some of those tea detox teas can definitely be hard to get down! I've tried a couple of different kinds of tea detox blends, and those colon ones are usually not easy to drink. The definitely work, though! I hope your detox went well and that you feel energized and ready to take on life. Me and my wife are trying a new one this week!
