THE SHEARLING + THE CHUNKY BOOTS

I am by NO MEANS a fashion blogger. It’s a bloody miracle if I can leave the house wearing something other than one of Chris’s t-shirts and a pair of skinny jeans. THAT is about the extent of my fashion talent. So, when I do manage to pull an outfit together, I feel fresh and fabulous and it’s time to force a friend to take pictures of me looking wistfully into the distance for a blog post.

I recently splurged on the Faux Shearling Biker Coat from Topshop. It’s absolutely freezing in London, and although I will admit that I have a serious coat-problem, I definitely needed something fleecy and warm and toasty to get me to and from university without turning into an ice-cube. I’d been seeing this coat eeeevvverywhere, so I actually stopped a girl to ask her where this coat was from. Topshop was the answer, and it didn’t come bloody cheap. However, I usually spend between £30 and £40 on a coat, so this was a well-earned, once-a-year treat for me.

The jeans are also Topshop. The Joni jeans are the only style of jeans I can wear. The fact that they’re properly high-waisted is amazing, and the lengths are always perfect. I’ve got a slim-ish waist, but I was cursed with my mum’s childbearing hips that make it nearly impossible to buy jeans that fit well. When I saw that Topshop now had these Extreme Ripped Joni Jeans, I snapped them up with my Christmas vouchers.

As for my boots, they are my absolute babies. When they first arrived, I was really worried that I’d only be able to wear them on my annual touristy visit to CyberDog in Camden. They’re certainly very gothic and chunky, but I think that I manage to get away with them. They add about 4 inches onto my height, making me feel like I am actually Gigi Hadid, and I think I look a lot slimmer with a few added cms to my legs. These babies are from ROMWE, a website based in China (I think) and one that I was very wary about ordering from because I was so worried about sizing and quality. All was well in the world, though, and these popped through my door about 3 weeks after ordering, and cost about £45.

I really want to aim to do more OOTD posts. I follow such a lot of girly-girl bloggers so I sometimes feel a bit out of place in the whole fashion + beauty blogger community. Having said that, I’m much happier now with my sense of style and who I am than I was a couple of years ago, so watch this space!

Lots of love,
Jasmine x

  1. I absolutely love this jacket, it's beautiful! It's freezing up here in Edinburgh too, so I'm layering up like mad to stay cosy! I gotta love that opening paragraph, I've recently been leaving the house in joggers and Pusheen t-shirts because jeans just seem like too much! I work full time night shift so I've been very lazy on the fashion front haha! xx
