You may have spotted a few selfies on my Instagram a few weeks ago. I was
suddenly hit with a massive wave of creativity and I wanted to slap a bit of
colour on my face. I’m usually a VERY neutral girl; browns, taupes and nudes
are my go-to makeup colours, but I really wanted to try out a vibrant, vivid
makeup look instead.
This makeup was partially inspired by the goddess of all goddesses;
Evelina Forsell over on YouTube, who did a bright navy eye with grey lips. I
also chucked in a bit of Perrie Edwards’ dots under the eyes, as I’d not tried
that before either, but thought it looked really nice. Here’s what I came up
with!

NARS Pore Refining Primer
Illamasqua Skin Base

What do you guys think? I’ve always been terrified of colour; I like my
makeup to match my clothes and hair and not be too bold. I try to avoid looking
like a drag-queen on quick trips to Costa or Tesco, but I really liked how this
makeup actually turned out! I guess it goes to show that stepping out of your
comfort zone and trying out new ideas, and taking inspiration from makeup
artists you admire is a fun thing to do. I’d really like to try a vibrant pink
eyeshadow look using my Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette
next. Just need to wait until I need to take something to the post office so I
can ensure I’m suitably over-done up!
Lots of love,
YAS girl, I love this look. I'm not usually a colour fan either but think this works because it's all cool-toned and fabulous.
