WHAT I GOT FOR CHRISTMAS 2017

Jasmine McRae coming atcha with the appreciation parade! Meeeerrryyy Christmas, Happy Holidays! I know it’s all pretty much over, and we’re back to our ‘real’ lives again soon, and there’s going to be a huge Lindor-shaped hole in my heart for a long long time, but, I wanted to do a ‘What I Got For Christmas’ post! There’s been some umming and ahhhing on Twitter about whether people are going to write theirs, but I am so grateful and appreciative of what I received, I’d love to share it with you lot…

Hands down, the best presents come in the form of actual food, or that have the ability to get you food. So, the Côte Brasserie vouchers Chris and I got as a joint present from his family was so lovely. We’ve got about £40 quid’s worth to eat and drink our way through on our next date night. Côte Brasserie is probably my ultimate favourite restaurant at the moment so I’m soooo excited to go for a meal there soon!

Some beauty bits I got were a bath pug, which is basically like a rubber duck for the bath except it’s a pug in a rubber ring *i die*. I got a gingerbread man bath bomb because I love ginger men, clearly, and spend an inordinate amount of time submerged in the tub. My dad did bloody good and stocked me up on my favourite Got2b Oil-licious Styling Oil. He also got me one of the Superdrug Superfruits Exfoliating Masks because I am literally on a mission to try every packet mask on the face of the earth. I am a woman possessed. I need to have tried every single one. And I also got a super pretty-smelling Ted Baker Body Spray/mist type thing, which is great because it’s teeny weeny backpack-sized and I can make sure I’m not honking on the go.

My dad reignited my travelling itch (is that a thing? do you 'ignite' an itch? oh well.) with these two babies. I got a money security belt for when I’m out and about on my travels. It sits very close to the body and is worn under clothes to stop you ‘losing’ €50 in Barcelona, not that I’d HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH THAT WHATSOEVER. I also received this Mountain Warehouse sleeping bag, which will come in handy during my many future hostel visits. I’m not exactly sure which one it is, but it said it will keep you warm in temperatures down to 0 degrees. Here’s to hoping I’m never in weather down to 0 degrees!

I got some much-needed and hiiiiiighly overdue new pjs, which are super cute and have rainbows and unicorns on them and I’m not 22 years old, you are! And another wiiiiicked present from my dad came in the form of ForteanTimes magazine, which I had never heard of before. I’m absolutely obsessed with UFOs, cryptozoology, strange, weird and wonderful things. Turns out, there’s a magazine that indulges my love of conspiracy and oddities! I read the whole thing within a day, and it’s something I’d like to start buying regularly because it’s absolutely fascinating.

I was also given some spending money which I have well. and. truly. spent. I’ll be doing a ‘What I Bought Myself For Christmas’ post when all my presents-to-myself arrive!

I really hope you enjoyed reading about what I got for Christmas. It was mine and Chris’s first Christmas together and I had such an incredible day…actually…come to think of it….after all 9 of those glasses of champagne, I think I had an incredible day, but I really can’t be sure.

I hope you lovely lot had a fantastic day; that you ate till you were sick, drank until you were, well, sick again, spent *almost* too much time with your loved ones, and played charades until you were so frustrated you hurled the bowl of movie names at your grandmother’s head.

Lots of love,
Jasmine x
