A Versatile Makeup Base

Soooo many times I have just finished my makeup and started choosing my lip colour, only to really really want an awkwardly specific colour that simply does not suit the look I have completed so far. For this annoying situation, I decided I'd like to create a base look that will suit any lip colour I could choose at the end. I hope this video is helpful to you and would love feedback!

Love,
Jasmine

What To Buy Your Beauty Loving Friends and Family For Christmas!

Hi guys, so it's christmas time soon which means a whole load of stress for me because I never have any idea what to get anyone. That is, except when in comes to beauty lovers. This list will hopefully help you in your search to find the perfect makeup, skincare and beauty products to give as gifts to your friends and family!

Larger Gifts:

The Inglot Freedom System (5 palette $14, each eyeshadow $10) - I think these are so perfect for a gift because of the choice it gives the receiver. Basically, you buy the empty palette and fill it with any of Inglot's eyeshadows! Their range of colours and finishes mean that you can customise your palette completely. You could even just get them the palette and let them choose their own eyeshadows.

Benefit's Let's Glow, Lovely set $50usd - This special christmas set by Benefit can be found on their US website. It comes with a highlighter, a blush, a mascara and a gorgeous peachy corally lipgloss. This is great because it gives a few little gifts in one, and I consider it to be quite affordable at $50usd (around $65-70aud).

set includes:
full size watt’s up! 9.4 g Net wt. 0.33 oz.
full size dandelion 7.0 g Net wt. 0.25 oz.
deluxe they’re real! mascara 4.0 g Net wt. 0.14 oz.
dandelion ultra plush deluxe sample 6.5 mL

Bobbi Brown Smokey Cool Eye Palette $80 - I saw this a few weeks ago on the website and absolutely fell in love with it. This palette is so so holiday appropriate! It will enable whoever you gift it to to create gorgeous shimmering, metallic christmassy and New Years looks. It also comes with a brush which, I think is great, because Bobbi Brown brushes are pretty expensive to buy separately! Anyway, this palette has 5 smokey, icy shades which would be absolutely perfect for the holiday season.

MAC Stroke of Midnight Lip Bag in Nude $89 - This is such a great gift, in my opinion. I can think of so many people who would appreciate this really complete gift pack. It includes a Cremesheen Glass in Softly Lit, Lipstick in Creme D'nude (an absolute favourite of mine!!) and a lip pencil in Boldly Bare. This gift pack will help whoever receives it to create the perfect nude lip. Plus, it comes in a gorgeous little purse, so it is like 2 gifts in one!

Daisy by MARC JACOBS $92 100ml - I'm such a sucker for this perfume, but seriously, it is one of the most famous and popular and well loved perfumes on the planet. It is said to be "happy and youthful", and "more accessible than the signature range" and "sophisticated but not too serious". It brings down the age range of Marc Jacobs customers. This is why I think it would be perfect for a teenager, or maybe even younger as their first proper perfume. Having said this, my best friend's mother wears Daisy by Marc Jacobs and loves it, so I believe it is down to personal preference, not age!

VS Sassoon 31mm Hair Curler $32 Priceline - This hair curler, and ones like it, make great gifts for girls who love beauty and hair. I actually just bought this curler for my younger sister's 17th birthday on Dec 5th, but I think it would be a really useful, lasting gift for christmas.

Smaller Gifts / Stocking Fillers / Kris Kringle :

YSL Rouge Volupte Lipsticks $55 - Quite expensive for a lipstick, but in my opinion, a great great product for the price. The packaging is really pretty and the colours are extremely creamy and long-lasting. These are such a luxurious product, and many people would absolutely love these.

BH Cosmetics Galaxy Chic Eyeshadow Palette $13.95 - This is a great palette for the price. The eyeshadows are baked which make them highly pigmented and long lasting, and also enable you to use them with water for a more intense, creamy look. BH cosmetics' products are all actually pretty high quality, which is surprising due to their extremely low prices. I think this palette would be well suited to a teenage friend or family member.

The Body Shop Body Butters $27.95 - I absolutely LOVE Body Butters, and I always have and I always will! Personally I think these are fool-proof stocking fillers for most people, and are such a simple gift idea. My favourite scents are Pink Grapefruit and Coconut, and I also love the Olive one, which is intensely mositurising.

Tangle Teezer $20 - I don't personally own one of these, but I've always seen and heard great things about them. They're pretty much an essential to hair-care lovers, as they comb out wet and dry hair effortlessly. They are apparently "the best first step to hair rehabilitation", and honestly, I want one myself!

MAC Lipsticks $36 - I'm obsessed with MAC lipsticks, and I think the brand is highly respected among many many people, which is why I've included this on my list. I got my first MAC lipstick when I was 17 and absolutely loved it. Giving these small, inexpensive gifts is pretty effortless but extremely thoughtful.

My favourite Drugstore Face Masks!

Apologies for the blurry photograph!
These are some of my favourite drugstore face masks that you can buy in Priceline and Chemist Warehouse.

Garnier Pure 3 in 1 - Wash + scrub + mask
This is probably my most used item from the group. The reason I love it is because it's three products in one, and I feel that they all work well for my skin. The mask in particular, though, has mattifying qualities and I do feel like it really soaks up all the oils from my pores that have accumulated over the course of the day. I use this one every 2 or 3 days when I'm in the shower.

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula with vitamin E Purifying Mask
When this thing says it 'tightens and cools', it really does. The mask is so thick and creamy yet refreshingly cool when it goes on the skin. For me, it hasn't ever dried out completely while on my skin, but maybe that is because I apply very thick layers because I just love the texture. It's quite a cleansing, yet moisturising mask. I feel that when I wash it off, my skin looks brighter and feels soft. I love this product for when I'm having relaxation time!

Formula 10.0.6 Deep Down Detox Ultra-Cleansing Mud Mask
This is probably my favourite from this brand's range of face masks, but I do own all of them and really like them. This one doesn't have the burning sensation that the other ones do, which I actually was disappointed about because I quite like the burning (which sounds strange, haha!). The smell of this mask is gorgeous and uplifting; it is a strong orange smell with bergamot. This is a daytime mask for me, because the product is quite energising in scent. As far as cleansing my face, I feel the product does a fair job. My skin feels drier and softer, however it can tend to look a little red. Despite its harshness, I am a real fan of this product and the others in its range!

Freeman Facial Peel-Off Mask in Cucumber
This is a face mask I use when I want something a little different. The bottle says it 'clarifies and renews skin', which, to me, does sound a little broad. I'm not 100% sure whether or not this product is a great cleanser of my pores, however, when you peel off the dried mask, you can see all the oils that it has collected from your face. While this product removes unwanted oils from my face, I can't really vouch for its 'clarifying' or 'renewing' qualities. Regardless of that, though, it is so much fun to peel it off!

My Triangl Bikini arrived!!

Hahaha, I only just finished the last post when the guy came to my door with the package!

So, this is my gorgeous bikini! It came in a postage parcel which was a white plastic bag with my address on it. Inside is a clear plastic bag with the brand name TRIANGL on it. Inside that is the neoprene bag of the same colour as your chosen bikini! Mine is California Coral. Then inside the neoprene bag is the top and the bottom packaged separately in clear plastic bags.
This is everything I received in my package:

The bikini is really sturdy. The fabric is thick and actually quite insulating, after all, it is wetsuit material! The top has the traingl logo on the ends of the straps, and overall, it does a very good job covering me up and providing me with a bit of much-needed volume.

The bottoms came with a large black tag on them, but other than that, they are good and plain. The hipster cut is extremely flattering at the top of the leg. I would warn that the top of the front of the bikini bottoms come down quite low. Personally, I might like them a bit higher up, however it will definitely ensure my tan covers most of me!

The bikini comes with some care cards, which instruct you how to properly clean and dry your bikini. It essentially states how delicate and easily marked the neoprene fabric is, and recommends that you iron out any marks carefully. Some of this information is also printed on the labels on the inside of the bikini.

This is what the bikini looks like on me. All in all, I'd say it is one of the most comfortable bikinis you could wear. You feel very secure in it (that is, nothing feels as though it's going to fall out), and it provides me with the extra lift/support/volume I was hoping for. The straps are quite stretchy, but when they are tied, they hold well and give you a decent amount of lift. As for the colour, I love it! The pale coral colour really makes your skin look tanned, even though I'm currently extremely pale! The other colours I'd look at buying are Indiana Ice, which is a pure white with the great contrasting black lining, and Santa Rosa Splash, which is a gorgeous vibrant blue. Of all the different designs of the Triangl bikinis, I definitely prefer this 'Chloe' style bikini, but I think that is due to my body type. They recommend the 'Ollie' bikinis for girls who want a push up fit, but I much prefer the look of the tie-up bikini with matching bottoms. Other than that, they have a bandeau style bikini with metallic bottoms and a contrasting colour top, but that wouldn't have been so flattering on me because of my smaller chest.

I hope this blog post helps! I wrote it because this is the kind of thing I'd have loved to have been able to find when I was looking to purchase mine. I hope some of you will be able to gain some information from this, and I hope you love your bikini as much as I love mine!

Triangl Swimwear

So this is my latest obsession! Triangl Swimwear.
What first attracted me to this swimwear was the fact that one of my favourite YouTubers Lauren Curtis posted a picture of her new bikini from Triangl. As well as this, a friend from work told me that she was in love with her new pair.

I jumped on their instagram and saw loads of pictures of tanned girls with perfect bodies and huge boobs, which did dishearten me at first. I never usually go for triangle shaped bikini tops due to me having A cup boobs, so I was worried about whether I'd get any push up from the top. My friend reassured me though, and told me that her bikini gave her a good amount of lift and extra volume.

I chose the 'Chloe' bikini style in 'California Coral'. I decided to get an xs top and an s bottom, because my hips are pretty wide and my boobs are pretty insubstantial. The website offers a sizing chart so you can quite easily measure your sizes.

I ordered mine on Tuesday last week and so far, it's been shipped and is almost out for delivery. I'm really excited to get it! I'll review the bikini when it arrives, with pictures!
