AA Booth Tennis Skirt

Here’s another AA Booth post! I love doing these, and I love scrolling through everyone else’s using the hashtag AABooth on instagram and twitter. There’s something infinitely sexy about American Apparel and I’ll forever be obsessed. This post features the popular Tennis Skirt which has really blown up with AA fans recently. I chose white because it’ll be perfect for summer, and it fits in with my polished white, grey and black wardrobe theme.

Primark Homeware Haul

A few weeks ago, I went on a huge homeware search in Bristol. I’m moving up there for university in September, and me being the excitable, prematurely organising person that I am, decided I’d splurge a bit on some bits for my student flat. Initially, the plan was to move up with my boyfriend, as you may have read in a previous post. However, that relationship has ended so the plan has changed. I’m now heading into halls which is really exciting!

I picked up a few essential bits; towels, bed sheets and pillowcases. I also bought a couple of pretty girly bits, like the fairy lights and the wicker heart for decoration. I’m definitely going for a white and grey theme with bohemian touches. You can’t go wrong with monochrome, but I’m also collecting hippy style throws and cushions from markets and online. In total, I think this lot from Primark only came to around £50 altogether.

Although I’m saving this stuff for uni, I’m impressed with how affordable it is. I’d definitely recommend checking out Primark’s homeware sections if you’re on a student budget but you still want pretty bedding and decor for your flat. The bedsheets I’ve got at home currently are from Primark, so I know they’re lovely quality and the patterns are usually really pretty.

There’s still a whole load I need to get, but I’m slowly working through my list and I’ve got a pinterest board full of inspiration! Hopefully I can keep most of my spending to a minimum but still end up with a pretty bedroom in my student accommodation. Any tips would be more than helpful!

FOTD with SuperCat and Sleek Dare

Every now and again I get a real craving to go full vamp. I adore dark bloody lips and pale, flawless skin. It makes me feel so confident and it’s a welcome step away from my usual every-day makeup. I just purchased this lipstick by Sleek a couple of weeks ago, and I’ve worn it only twice. I adore it though.

It’s a pure matte finish, so it’s pretty dry and a little bit messy to apply. Once you’ve got it down, though, it looks stunning and it is the perfect deep blood red. I just did a simple but bold cat flick on the eyes, piled on the mascara and did a little bit of natural looking contouring. I tend to stay away from over-doing the rest of my face when I’ve got such a show-stopping lip colour on. I’d hate to look too drag queen!

Products Used:
MAC Prep + Prime Skin Base Visage
MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NW15
Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation in Ivory (I’m pure 4 sure)
MAC Studio Fix Powder plus Foundation in NW15
Illamasqua Sculpting Powder Duo
NARS Deep Throat
Benefit Gimme Brow in Light/Medium
Soap & Glory Supercat
Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara
Sleek True Colour Lipstick in Dare

I just wore this to work, because even though the lips are pretty dramatic, the rest of my face is pretty understated so I feel I can get away with it. There’s nothing like changing up your usual every day makeup and going in for the kill with a sexy vampy look. Yay!

6 Products For Glowing Spring Skin

With Spring right around the corner, what better time than to compile all my latest and greatest products which will help to enhance the natural glow of your skin this spring! Over winter, my skin took a real hit with the cold weather, and became a little duller and a whole lot paler. My tips for glowing skin are stronger than ever right now, having created a whole new regime to help me look more alive over winter! For spring, though, I want to keep using my tips because it’ll help enhance my skin’s natural brightness and keep me looking fresh and alive through the next couple of months!

Napoleon Perdis Set Brightening Pre Foundation Primer
I’m not actually sure if you can buy this in England, or anywhere in the world for that matter. This is a pink/purpley toned primer which brings out some radiance in your skin, and creates a soft, supple base for applying makeup on top of. I always see really noticeable results when I apply this; the pink toned pigments make your skin look instantly brighter and fresher which is perfect for the spring months.

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in Santa Fe
A hugely popular and widely celebrated beauty gem! Every beauty blogger or reader is probably well aware of the incredible effects of this foundation. It’s a dewy finish which actively brightens and awakens the skin, whilst providing a natural looking coverage for radiant skin. It’s my go-to foundation for spring and summer because of the weightless finish, and although it is one of my pricier makeup items, I’ve got a back up bottle waiting in my drawers so I don’t feel bad about constantly dipping into my Sheer Glow stash!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in Ivory
This is a concealer that I actually didn’t understand at first; I was using it as a normal concealer and using it to cover spots. Of course, I didn’t realise that this concealer has light reflecting pigments which work to awaken the skin where it is applied. It’s much better for the under eye area, and I’ve began using it as my highlight product down my nose and on my cupids bow. The light reflecting qualities make my skin look like I’ve had decent night’s sleep, and it feels light and weightless on my skin.

MAC Mineralise Skin Finish Powder in Light and Medium Dark
These powders are staples in my daily makeup routine. They’re incredibly finely milled powders which make your skin look airbrushed after you apply it. I use the Light colour to set any areas I’ve highlighted with, and the Medium Dark to lightly contour. They’re both really natural and wearable colours, so they’re perfect for that minimal springtime look; a fresh and flawless face with a dewy finish!

NARS Albatross
I thought I’d include this product because even though it’s not one of my must-haves, it certainly does what I need it to. It brightens me up and makes me look awake, but on top of that, I feel like a glowing bohemian goddess. This gold flecked powder is extremely fine and blends out along my cheekbones with ease. Although I don’t wear it on a daily basis, I do find when I’m feeling extra-lacklustre it sorts me right out. For a small fortune, it’s one of those products I’m glad I’ve got in my collection for those moments where I need it.
